Srinagar is the largest city in the Jammu valley and is famous for its gardens, lakes and houseboats. Enclosed by splendid Pir Panjal mountains and Mughal Gardens, the city used to the summer getaway place for the Mughal & British Royalty earlier. Dal Lake is the most popular attraction in Srinagar. Check-in to the hotel. In the evening, we will take a boat ride in the canopied Shikaras sailing on the Dal Lake to watch the sunset. Overnight stay at Hotel in Srinagar. Srinagar - Kargil (210 kms) After breakfast, get ready for an adventurous ride. Our first stop will be at Sonmarg where you can soak all the beauty of the grasslands and mountain peaks. Then we ride across the mighty Zoji La Pass to reach Drass Village, the second coldest inhabited place on Earth. Visit the War memorial. Soak in the amazing views of Kargil, Tiger Hill and other famous peaks from the Kargil War. Overnight stay at the Hotel in Kargil. Kargil - Leh (240 Kms) Begin the day with a delicious breakfast and then head towards Leh on the Srinagar-Leh Highway. This day will be packed with lot of sight-seeing spots such as Invisible Village, Hall of Fame, Lamayuru Monastery, Alchi/Likir monastery, Indus-Zanskar river confluence, Magnetic hill & Gurudwara Pathar Sahib. Leh – Khardung La - Nubra Valley (130 Kms) After breakfast, be ready for a scenic ride. Our first stop will be at the gateway to Nubra and Shyok valleys - Khardung La (18,380 ft), one of the world's highest motorable road. From here we descend into Nubra valley and head to Diskit monastery. The view of the tall Chamba (Buddha) statue overlooking the Nubra valley is beautiful beyond words. Last stop for the day will be the sand dunes of Hundar. Take a ride on the Bactrian (Double humped) camel and watch the sun set over the mountain ranges. Overnight stay at Guest house / Camp in Hundar with Bonfire. If you love taking pictures then you must definitely try some astral photography here. Hunder - Thang - Hunder (200 Kms) After breakfast, we ride along the Shyok river to Turtuk and then to Thang which is the border village along the Indo-Pakistan border. Soak in the beauty of the lush green fields lined with apricot trees with the Karakorum range in the backdrop. Explore Turtuk or Tyakshi village of the Baltistan region and taste the local food of the Balti people who look completely different from rest of the Ladakhis. Post lunch, we stop at the Siachen warriors memorial and then back to Hunder. Overnight stay at the Guest house / Camp in Hunder. Hunder - Pangong Tso (180 Kms) Today will be an early start as we continue the ride along the Shyok river to the breath-taking Pangong Tso. Pangong Lake is an endorheic lake spanning eastern Ladakh and West Tibet situated at an elevation of 4,225 m (13,862 ft). This pristine mosaic of myriad shades of blue, is said to be one of the highest brackish water lakes in the world. You have the evening free to go crazy with photoshoots. Overnight stay in Swiss tents in Spangmik / Man / Merak. Arrive at Chandigarh Arrive at the pre-booked hotel in Chandigarh. Tour briefing will be in the evening where you meet the tour leader and fellow participants of the tour. Overnight stay at Hotel in Chandigarh. Chandigarh – Patnitop (420 Kms ) After an early breakfast, we will leave the city and start riding towards Jammu along the lush green fields of Punjab. It will be a long ride on 4 lane highways till we reach the foothills before Jammu followed by a short ride in the hills in winding roads to reach Patnitop. The temperature gets a lot cooler once we reach the foothills and the mornings are very beautiful to take a walk around Patnitop. Overnight stay at Hotel in Patnitop. Pangong Tso - Hanle (200 Kms) Get ready for some hardcore adventure as we ride to remote village of Hanle along Man, Merak & Chusul. This will be one of the most deserted roads most people would have ridden/driven in their life. Our destination for the day is one of the historic villages of Ladakh, Hanle. Home to the 17th century Hanle monastery and world's 3rd highest optical telescope, Hanle is a must-visit place for anyone visiting Ladakh. Hanle - Umling La - Demchok - Hanle (180 Kms) Today will be adrenaline pumping day as ride to the world's highest Motorable road - Umling la (19,024 ft) thru some of the most deserted plains of Ladakh. We'll be able to spot few Himalayan Wild Asses - an endangered species, native to the high altitude plains of Himalayas. Spend few minutes at the World's Highest cafe and take a lot of pics to celebrate your achievement and also to make your friends jealous. Then we proceed to Demchok village at the India-China border and ride back to Hanle. Overnight stay in Hotel / Guest house in Hanle. Hanle - Chumur - Tso Moriri (160 Kms ) Today will be one more day of adventure riding. From Hanle, we take the unexplored road to Tso Moriri via Chumur. The lake and surrounding area are protected as the Tso Moriri Wetland Conservation Reserve. The lake is at an altitude of 4,522 m (14,836 ft). It is the largest of the high altitude lakes entirely within India and entirely within Ladakh in this Trans-Himalayan biogeographic region. This 26 km long lake and the laid back village of Karzok are way less crowded than Pangong and is a very peaceful place to watch the sunrise or sunset. Overnight stay in Hotel / Camp in Karzok. Karzok - Tso Kar - Sarchu (210 Kms ) Wake up early and catch the sunrise over the lake right from your hotel room or tent—it’s a sight you won’t want to miss! After a tasty breakfast, we’re off to Tso Kar, part of the amazing Ladakh lake circuit. You’ll get to check out the Tso Kar Basin, where you’ll find the freshwater Startsapuk Tso and the salty Tso Kar, both set in the stunning Changthang region. Then, we’ll hit the road to Sarch, cruising through the beautiful More Plains, Lachung La, Naki La, and the famous Gata Loops, before winding down with an overnight stay at the Camp in Sarchu. Sarchu - Manali (180 Kms ) Witness the effects of altitude and rainfall on the vegetation while we ride from Sarchu to Manali. Apart from the mind-blowing landscapes and various vistas you get to see, there is also the excitement of riding a motorcycle in such inhospitable terrains and treacherous roads. Out of the many things that you need to be prepared for a trip to Ladakh, the most important thing is Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). Since we will be climbing very high altitudes in short span of time on multiple occasions and riding in border roads with politically sensitive regions, it is mandatory to follow the safety precautions set by the organizers for your own safety. Also, you are advised to get a health checkup done not more than 15 days before the start of the trip and provide a copy to the organizers. Other safety precautions will be shared during the briefing on Day 1 before the start of the tour. Our first stop will be at an indigenous tribe village and learn about their traditions, then we head to the Mahiyangana Raja Maha Vihara which is one of the 16 sacred places of Sri Lanka. Later we ride to Knuckles Mountain, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its unique flora and fauna take a bath in a beautiful waterfall before settling for the day. Overnight stay in Knuckles. Knuckles to Nuwara Eliya via Kandy (145 Kms) Our day starts with a short ride to Kandy, where we first head to Arthur’s seat for an aerial view of the terrain. Later, we leave the lowlands behind and proceed to the tea plantations of Nuwara Eliya, also called as the Little England. Jaisalmer - Jodhpur (265 Kms) After a early breakfast, we first visit the ghost village of Rajasthan - Kuldaara. The village has been abandoned for close to three centuries and its believed to be cursed by the residents when they left the place. Jodhpur - Local Sightseeing After a relaxed breakfast, we explore the city of Jodhpur aka "Blue City", adorned with architectural marvels, and renowned for its exquisite craftsmanship. Mehrangarh fort, Ummed Bhavan, Jaswant Thada, Mandore Garden are some of the must visit places in Jodhpur. Later we ride to Osian, an ancient town located in Rajasthan. It’s an oasis in the Thar Desert and has been known as the Khajuraho of Rajasthan for its temple. Overnight stay at Hotel in Udaipur Jaisalmer - Local Sightseeing After a relaxed breakfast, we explore buzzing life inside the Jaisalmer fort, one of the very few "living forts" in the world, as nearly one fourth of the old city's population still resides within the fort. Phong Nha – Local sightseeing (60 Kms) Pack your trekking shoes and swimming trunks. We will take few short detours and enjoy a bit of trails along the villages and farms. One of the important spots of this day will be the Milestone 0 of Ho Chi Minh trail. Ho Chi Minh Trail is an elaborate system of mountain and jungle paths and trails used by North Vietnam to infiltrate troops and supplies into South Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos during the Vietnam War. The trail was put into operation beginning in 1959, after the North Vietnamese leadership decided to use revolutionary warfare to reunify South with North Vietnam.
