Bikaner – Local sightseeing After a relaxed breakfast, we head to the Junagarh Fort of Bikaner, a magnificent structure around which the city of Bikaner grew up. Then we proceed to Rampuria Haveli which is a beautiful specimen constructed of Dulmera red sandstone as the crucial base material. Get ready to witness the wonder of Karni Mata aka Rat temple of Rajasthan, home to nearly 20,000 rats. Its believed the rats are the descendants of the goddess and the locals offer food to them. Bikaner - Jaisalmer (320 Kms) After an early breakfast and we embark on a captivating journey covering approximately 320 km from Bikaner to Jaisalmer, where modern technology meets natural wonders. Later we ride to the ghost village of Kuldhara. Three centuries ago it was a prosperous town, but today it is an abandoned village shrouded in mystery. Explore the Sam Sand Dunes on camel back. As twilight deepens, a group of local performers gathers around a campfire. Jaisalmer - Jodhpur (265 Kms) After a early breakfast, we first visit the ghost village of Rajasthan - Kuldaara. The village has been abandoned for close to three centuries and its believed to be cursed by the residents when they left the place. Then we set head to Pokhran, where India conducted its landmark first nuclear tests in 1974, as part of the 'Smiling Buddha' operation. Overnight stay at Hotel in Jodhpur. It is a country you have to ride to understand. From the towers of Angkor to the red-dirt tracks of the north and the slow brown sweep of the Mekong, this is the landscape that shaped the Khmer world, and the road runs through all of it. This 8-day journey begins in Siem Reap with a full day among the great monuments of Angkor. Then the real ride starts. Swap the tourist trail for backroads, jungle trails and the sacred plateau of Phnom Kulen, before pushing through remote northern Cambodia to Ta Seng and the forgotten ruins of Preah Khan Kompong Svay. From there, turn east towards the Mekong at Stung Treng and follow the river south through Kratie and Kampong Cham, past plantations, village pagodas and timeless river communities, to finish in Phnom Penh . Over Night in Gangtok TUE. 10 NOV, 2026 Guwahati to Bomdila – Out of the Plains, Into the Hills 255 km · 8 hrs. Leave the Assam plains behind, cross the Bhairavkunda gate into Arunachal Pradesh and feel the road start to twist. Tropical green gives way to pine and mist as you pass Shergaon and climb steadily into the Kameng hills. Bomdila greets the group with cool air and the first real taste of Himalayan altitude. Overnight in Bomdila First Ride in the Himalayas Gangtok — Unseen Terrains or Changu Lake The motorcycles are collected in the morning and the riding adventure begins. Depending on weather, permits and local conditions, the day will follow either a ride through lesserexplored terrains around Gangtok or the route towards Changu Lake (Tsomgo). The unseen-terrain option focuses on quieter roads and landscapes beyond the conventional sightseeing circuit. If conditions permit, the Changu Lake route offers a dramatic introduction to Sikkim's high-altitude riding. Return to Gangtok by evening. Over Night in Gangtok Into North Sikkim Gangtok to Lachung Leave Gangtok and head north towards Lachung, following the Teesta and its tributaries deeper into the mountains. The landscape changes steadily from green valleys and forested slopes to dramatic Himalayan terrain, with waterfalls, gorges and mountain settlements along the way. Lachung, at around 2,750m, is the gateway to Yumthang Valley and Zero Point. After checking in, rest and acclimatise before tomorrow's high-altitude ride. Over Night in Lachung The High-Altitude Frontier Lachung to Zero Point and back An early start takes the group towards Yumthang Valley and onward to Zero Point (Yumesamdong), at approximately 4,800m. Today is the character-builder: a long, demanding stretch via Chuna and Mago, past the high-altitude Gongkarla Lake, with stretches of rough tarmac and raw Himalayan landscape. Frequently Asked Questions About Our Arunachal Pradesh Motorcycle Tour 1. Do I need a permit to travel to Arunachal Pradesh? Yes. Indian tourists require an Inner Line Permit (ILP) to enter Arunachal Pradesh. The permit is applicable to domestic visitors, and the state tourism department provides an online eILP process. Certain border-area destinations, including Bum La, require additional permission and access is subject to local and security clearances. Twisted Trails will assist with the required permits for the expedition. 2. How difficult is the Arunachal Pradesh motorcycle tour? The expedition is rated Intermediate and covers approximately 1,100 km over 10 days, with around 90% tarmac and 10% off-road riding. The route includes high-altitude mountain roads, gravel sections and challenging terrain around Tawang and the border areas. Previous experience with long-distance motorcycle touring and basic off-road riding skills is recommended. 3. Will there be snow during the November Arunachal tour? Snow is possible, particularly around Sela Pass and the higher-altitude areas near Tawang and Bum La. November is also a good period for clearer mountain views, although weather can change quickly at altitude. Road and pass conditions can vary, so the itinerary may be adjusted if required for safety. 4. How do we manage the high altitude on this motorcycle tour? The itinerary is designed with gradual altitude gain, including overnight stops around Bomdila and Dirang before reaching Tawang. This helps riders acclimatize before heading to higher-altitude locations such as Sela Pass and Bum La. At high altitude, riders should stay hydrated, avoid overexertion and immediately report symptoms such as severe headache, dizziness or breathlessness to the tour leader. From there, we head to Mu Cang Chai which is also famous for the terraced rice fields. Rice terraces coil in ribbons around the hills to spectacular effect, luring photographers, hikers, and avid motorcyclists. This place is populated with the black Hmong people, a subgroup of largest ethnic tribe of Vietnam. Unlike many other minority groups in Vietnam, the Hmong don’t live in raised houses on wooden stilts. Instead, they build their homes on flattened earth.
